So, I said making your own snacks is cheaper than buying them.  This is a favorite at my house!

  • One apple
  • a few baby carrots, or carrot sticks.  Baby carrots are 1.19-1.39 a bag while carrots are roughly .89 cents a bunch.  It is definitely cheaper to buy carrots in a bunch and cut them yourself.
  • half a graham cracker per child
  • a handful of raisins (also cheaper to buy in the large container than in separate boxes.)
  • Peanut butter
  • a glass of milk

Of course, if you are a grown up you can choose to save your dignity and just use the peanut butter as a dip for your carrots and apple slices, but I’d rather make disturbing noises as I eat my snack person’s arms, legs, and face.  Then again, I’m just an over-sized 8-year-old!
